Alarm bells have rung for the residents of Rohtak who have encroached outside the house by ramps, platforms or by tying cattle as Rohtak Corporation Commissioner himself has come into action and leaving his chair is roaming in the wards. Not relying on the officials, he has taken it upon himself to work and yesterday rang the bell of many encroachment houses in ward no. Along with this, orders have been given to the concerned officials to demolish the illegal constructions immediately on 24th November.

Corporation Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata inspected Ward Number Eight’s Sonepat Road, Jasbir Colony, Basant Vihar, Harki Devi Colony, Kabir Colony, Vishal Nagar, Azadgarh, Ladhot Road and Vikas Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Stadium and Bus Stand from 2:30 to 5 pm. Inspected around Azadgarh. Roaming around in the streets, ringing the bell of the houses, asked why the encroachment was done and by when will you remove the ramps made. Along with, corporator Sunil alias Sonu Pavaria and the people of the ward were present. Commissioner Shri Ram left the team of officers of the Corporation at the Rangshala itself.

The city is riddled with problems. In the House meeting held last week, the councilors had put forth the problems before the Commissioner. The commissioner had assured to personally inspect the wards. In this episode, on Wednesday, the Commissioner left for Ward 8 from the office along with the Engineering Branch, Tax Branch, Cleaning Branch and other officers, but as soon as he reached Shriram Rangshala, the Commissioner said that the officers would not go with him. He himself will inspect the ward.

Commissioner took action after seeing cow tied in the street in Ward 8

Ward councilor Sunil alias Sonu and a dozen people of the ward met him on Ladhot road. First of all, he inspected the community center built by the corporation for 3 crore 15 lakhs. Councilor Sonu told that there is a problem in the construction of the community center. The pavement has sat before two years. Not even a boundary wall. He got the survey done by a private building construction agency, in which it was told that the cost is very less. According to the councilor, the commissioner has given instructions to investigate the matter.

After this the commissioner reached Vishal Nagar, where a deadlock was going on over the construction of a street. The commissioner directed the officials to get the street constructed. From there the commissioner reached Azadgarh, where the women complained that commercial activities were going on in the residential area in the name of PG. DJ plays till late night. The commissioner assured to investigate the matter. After this, the commissioner reached near the bus stand and instructed the sanitation workers of the corporation to get the drain cleaned. Apart from this, the councilor was told that his area, despite being developed, has not become legal. His list should be given.

When the commissioner reached Azadgarh, people complained that there are many buildings in his area where commercial activities are going on. The commissioner ordered to check the records of the buildings. He says that property tax and development charges will be collected from the time of construction of such buildings till now. For this, surveys are being conducted in the entire city.

Ward-8 Councilor Sunil Kumar said that the Corporation Commissioner inspected the development works in Ward-8 on Wednesday. He has ordered to investigate the matter of community center built in Sukhpura Chowk area and prepare a report within a week, demolish ramps, platforms and balconies of houses under construction from Thursday itself. Along with this, he told in the approved unapproved case that the ready map of ward eight will be given on Thursday, in which necessary amendments will be made as per the instructions of the councillor.

Today the Corporation Commissioner will go to Ward No. 11, which includes Sectors 1, 2, 3, Sector 14 and surrounding areas. People are troubled by the problem of broken road, stray dogs and monkeys. The condition of the parks was also going bad last month. The construction of the community center is also incomplete. Ward 11 councilor Kadam Singh has raised his voice many times in the house.

Municipal Commissioner Dhirendra Khargata said that the problem of encroachment has been found more in ward eight, which has been instructed to remove it. Also, the buildings which are commercial, are getting them investigated. Outstanding property tax and development charges will be recovered. The experience of coming to the field and conducting the investigation was very positive. The campaign will continue even further.
